Do you have any New Year Challenges that you want to try? Here we are the first full week of 2019. The Holidays were wonderful – maybe I had just a little to much fun! I know that I went totally off track with all of the specialty foods, festive drinks and so many events to attend. Now I need to get back on track with eating healthy, getting more rest, increasing my herbal intake and focusing on my vision for this year : )
Using adaptogen herbs can be so helpful when starting a new year
Here are a few herbs that help with this time of year. Give them a try to see how they help you. Remember to check with your doctor anytime you try something new, I’m not a doctor I just know what works for me.
Using herbals are as easy as drinking a cup of tea!
Its so easy to get these herbs into our bodies, they can be taken in many forms. Some of my favorite ways are a brewed tea, a tincture that I’ve made or lately I’ve been getting powdered forms and making capsules. These herbs can also be so helpful to our pets. They go through a lot of the same stresses that we do.
These herbs are so important as you begin your new year, especially if you are starting a new workout routine, getting caught up on everything you had to let go during the holidays or maybe you have decided to challenge yourself in this new year and step outside of your comfort zone.
Getting out of your comfort zone and challenging yourself
I’m totally stepping out of my comfort zone this year. I have always loved to learn and research topics, try new projects and improve my overall health and wellness. These last few years, after selling our lifelong home has been somewhat stressful. I knew deep down that many of my plans for the life I was dreaming about were going to be put on hold until further notice.
I remember the night I decided I needed to do something to challenge my mind, it was January of 2017. We were in a rental condo, I knew I couldn’t redecorate anything, I knew I couldn’t really plan out anything longterm because this was a temporary home. I needed to find something to stimulate my mind, challenge me, keep me busy and along came an email about blogging.
I decided that this could be a way for me to share my passion for health, creativity and work from home on my own terms. I wanted to share my herbal knowledge. Use my excitement for research, planning and organizing what I wanted to write about and then share with a community of like minded people. And the best part was I could do it all while hanging out with my little buddy Ivy.
Ivy will be turning 3 in February

Ready to dive into 2019 and make my dream a reality.
Fast forward two years (where did the time go?) we are all settled into our permanent home and it’s my time to really build the life I have been envisioning. I couldn’t have gotten this blog up and running without the help of Abby Lawson and her book “Building a Framework”. Check out my post about how I got started. If you have ever wanted to blog or build a community for yourself, your business or just for fun she explains step by step what you need to do to set up your site. I was just informed it is now on sale until January 15th, Use the code NEWBLOG19 and get the sale price! What a great opportunity! Check it out!
Since the original set up back in 2017 I have only been occasionally posting and continuing to design the site to be what I want to work with everyday. I want to have a purpose to work towards on a constant basis. Challenging ourselves, learning new things that improve our daily lives and sharing those things with others is something I find exciting.
I’m so looking forward to 2019 and all it will bring my way. How about you? What are you looking forward to? What are you going to do this year to make you life the way you want it to be? Do you want to learn about health and wellness, taking care of your pets and using all natural products? If so click the link beside this post and join my community.
I’m so excited to meet you : )
