I’ve got you covered on this topic and will be writing more about how to use herbals to create health and wellness for yourself and that of your pets. Learning about herbals for myself is just one part of it. Ive been learning all about the nutritional side of herbs to add to my pets food. I hope I can offer you some helpful tips, ideas and information that you can use daily.
Where I began.
I started on my herbal journey over 10 years ago when my boys went off to college. I needed to find another focus after raising them. While watching them become more independent I knew it was my time to think about me. My focus turned to health and wellness. I began taking herbal classes from a wonderful herbalist who has become a special friend. She helped guide me through learning about myself and about the wonderful world of plants. Learning how to build this blog was my challenge.
Teaching myself how to build this blog was just the challenge I was needing at that time. When it was finally up and running I had the feeling of accomplishment. I think these types of feelings are very important to have. They keep you looking forward to each new day. Maybe not everyday but something to strive for. If you want to read about how I got started you can find that post here. Don’t get me wrong it was hard work. There were many days I asked myself why am I working so hard at this. Finally I realized just why I really wanted this online site. I’m so happy that I pushed myself and know that the information I put here will help so many pet parents. I’m so happy I stuck with it.

Making choices for yourself.
Some days I know I need to just do something different for myself. It may be I need to play in the kitchen with an herbal project or recipe. Spend the day at the beach, or work in my garden. These are other ways I find my joy. And of course there are the regularly scheduled Ivy adventure days. Taking her for a nice walk in the woods. Getting out into nature is my total happy place. It makes me feel refreshed and grounded. I think you need to find a balance that fits for you. Every time you do something for yourself that makes you happy you are creating your Best Life.

Feel that Joy.
There are so many different ways to feel joy. You need to look inward and think about what makes you happy. Everyone is different so what I like and what you like will differ for sure. But the one thing that will be constant is the feeling of desire to do that something. Ask yourself some questions. What do you want to do each day that makes you feel better? Is there something you want to learn about? How will you find the time right now to do it?
You may be raising little ones right now and they need you on a constant basis. You may have full-time job that takes up the bulk of you day. You may just feel lost and don’t know where to start. Everyone’s situation is different. But by deciding to move forward on your journey you have already begun to be happy.
I’m feeling that joy everyday.
Flash forward to now and I’m living a lifestyle that makes me feel like I’m living life to its fullest! I’m eating the healthiest way I know how. Living in a place that I love. And I’m challenging myself with this blog. I’m enjoying the simple little things in life that can get easily overlooked. I’m so grateful to the teachers, mentors and friends that I am being guided by during my journey and the ones I have yet to meet.
